I have been thinking for a long time how to create fashion using my paintings. As you have noticed, my artwork is a free interpretation of the Oriental art.
That particular view of the Asian art gives me the freedom to manipulate the colors, shapes and even the Chinese calligraphy on my own way.
Last October, traveling in the Netherlands, - my travels around the world provide me endless inspiration- I fall in love with the handbags, totes, and purses made of felt material. So, back to the USA, I embarked on the endeavor to customize felt handbags.
I wanted to create a handbag for ladies, something unusual for entrepreneurs, designers, students, yoga and meditator practitioners with an Asian spiritual twist where they can carry their laptop, iPad, Kindle, cellphones and personal items in style.
The felt handbags are soft to the touch, lightweight but at the same time durable and, most importantly, able to protect the delicate surface of your valuable electronics and personal belongings.
With that idea in mind, I created the “Meditation Collection” inspired by my painting “Going Inside.” My first felt handbags collection show a gorgeous Buddha sitting in deep meditation in color gold, white and black. Hope you love them as much as I do.
